Despite criticisms that Call of Duty: World at War (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS) isn’t as good as its predecessor Modern Warfare (PS3, Xbox 360, PC), Treyarch should still be happy with this outcome – the fifth installment to the Call of Duty franchise has sold over 11 million units since its launch back in November 2008.

Last week also saw the release of Map Pack 2, which will also try and live up to the success of Map Pack 1 which scored two million downloads.

Treyarch posts a big thanks to the players:

These outstanding feats would have never been possible without the continued dedication and support from all of the loyal Call of Duty fans. For that, we at Treyarch and Activision would like to extend our sincerest Thank You. We’re honored and humbled to have one of the greatest online communities in video game history behind our products!

Going back to the release, any of you got a few frags off the devs last week?
