Check out Stranglehold’s massive destruction trailer

stranglehold

John Woo‘s Stranglehold reminds me of “Pulp Fiction” (or of Quentin Tarantino films at least), Tony Hawk‘s adventures, Kung-fu flicks, and even Half Life — all the elements of the game combine to make destruction seem like child’s play. There’s Hollywood action, there’s smooth stunts, and there’s the feeling that you’re wielding some really awesome weapons and your enemies will never stand a chance to score against you. Except that they do.

The Unreal 3.0 engine and Havok physics system are what made all the happy mayhem possible. The battleground interacts and changes as the players do, so there’s a whole lot of creative action to exploit. The game also makes use of Massive D physics engine, allowing players to use the elements in the environments as their weapons.

Chow Yun-Fat is Inspector Tequila who spends his time double-gun toting and taking down organized crime bosses for a kill. It’s a film inspired by John Woo’s “Hard Boiled”. If you’re a movie buff, you’re going to enjoy the short, short trailer that you can download here. The question is, what can Inspector Tequila do apart from gunning criminals? After the video ends, you’re likely to find the answer.
