de Blob’s gameplay video

What began as a project developed by students at the Utrecht School of Arts could turn out to be a console’s next big thing. de Blob has been licensed by THQ and announced for release for the DS and Wii.

As the blob, it is your task to free the city of Chroma from the evil I.N.K.T. Corporation. The evil corporation outlawed all color and fun, and the city has been reduced to simple white buildings and gray streets. It’s up to the player to take on the monochrome and bring the color back. Swinging the Wiimote or moving the stylus allows the blob to smash head on against the buildings, resulting in a burst of color.

de Blob features the freedom to paint an entire city as gaudy or as stylish as one wants, simple mechanics and gameplay, as well as a multiplayer mode for four. Put all those things together and this title will have players swinging Wiimotes like crazy for a very long time.

But don’t just take my word for it, check out the video.
