Driver: Parallel Lines heading for Wii?

We managed to hear about this little rumor on Codename Revolution, though we’re not sure what to think. It’s possible that the Wii will be getting a port of Reflections Interactive Studios‘ Driver: Parallel Lines in 2007.

According to dvbrevolution, the owner of Codename Revolution, his local distributor tipped him off to a Wii port of the game with a release date of March 2007. While we can’t vouch for his distributor, we’ve yet to hear anything about this elsewhere. Besides, Ubisoft acquired the rights to the Driver franchise, so that may factor into an actual appearance of the game for the Wii. For now, we’ll throw this into our rumor mill.

If the rumor is true though, we’re certainly wishing they got a better GTA-styled game. Parallel Lines really wasn’t that great on the PS2 or Xbox, so while we do happen to like thinking of GTA-type games hitting the family-friendly Wii, this might be a step in the wrong direction. What do you think?
