EA still optimistic with Boogie’s market on Wii

Was Boogie for the Wii a success? - Image 1The August NPD numbers have come in with Electronic ArtsBoogie for the Wii selling 68,000 copies. Compared to Metroid Prime 3:Corruption which sold 218,100 copies during the month, some people may be thinking that the game didn’t sell as well as EA had hoped it would.

Well, apparently that’s not the case as Senior Director of PR at EA Casual Trudy Miller pointed out. She noted that “casual games have a different and potentially longer sales cycle than hard core games. Boogie is a family-oriented game and will be available through the holiday and beyond.” The company has declined to give their projected sales figures, but judging from the answers they may be close to hitting that mark.

Boogie will also be released on the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS by the end of the year. We’ll have to see if these releases will do just as well or even better than their Wii counterpart.
