GTA IV Xbox 360 is region locked

The road to GTA IV sure hasn’t been easy, what with all the controversies surrounding and hounding it up to the very last minute. And it does seem like the problem with the broken street date and leaked copy on torrent is not the end of it. This time, those on the receiving end of the bad news isn’t Rockstar or Take Two Interactive, but rather the Xbox 360 owners. Find out why after the jump.

Excited we know  you all are on the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto IV. And we totally understand. But you Xbox 360 owners would probably want to sit down before taking this in.

News has it that the Xbox 360 version of the said game is “totally region locked.” That obviously means that North American players can’t go to PAL shops to get a copy and vice-versa. For now, it seems that the PS3 players are more fortunate regarding this matter, but we’re still on the lookout on confirmation for that.

Anyhow, the big launch is due… right about now and there’s definitely no stopping it. Not even pulled down transit ads or leaked downloads on torrent. Are you ready? We sure are!
