Etch-A-Sketch enthusiasts can finally use their Nintendo DS handhelds for some Etch-A-Sketching fun, thanks to homebrew developer putzpie. Putzpie Etch A Sketch, or simply PEAS, is another simple yet engrossing way to spend idle time.
Controls are quite easy: the D-pad moves the pen, while the following buttons perform other basic functions:
- A=Lift Pen(hold)
- B=Eraser(hold)
- R=Precision mode(hold)
- L=Clear screen
- Y=Quick Save
- X=Quick Load
- Start=Save Slot+1
- Select=Save slot-1
- Arrow keys/Stylus = draw
In order to save, however, it is important to create a “PEAS” folder at the root of your card. Once you do that (after copying the PEAS.nds file into your chosen folder of your SD card), you’re free to enjoy Putzpie’s Etch A Sketch.
Here is the changelog to PEAS v0.2.1:
As always, do not forget to go over the readme file before installing it on your Nintendo DS to make sure that you won’t experience any issues.
