Intellicot the “Perfect” Babysitter

Every parents dream has come true with this really ingenious invention. But is it really what baby really needs? The Intellicot is like the “bio-dome” of the crib world. It was invented by 4 guys in the Industrial Product Design program at Coventry University. The idea behind the design was to help fatigued and overly stressed parents. So some of the features are:

• Video monitoring: has a built-in camera and a portable monitor to check up on your child; can be plugged into a TV to share with others as well

• Raising bottom: to ease the strain from bending over the pick up your baby, the bottom is designed to raise up to your level

• Air circulation: built in air circulation for hot days to prevent your baby from overheating

• Safety window: break proof polycarbonate glass

• Storage space below

• Automatic Rocking: a rocking mechanism that simulates the rocking motion of a parent to put the child to sleep

The Intellicot is hailed as a great step forward by designers as well as parents. This invention may answer a lot of concerns and relieve a lot of stress from parents. The only downfall is that one day this may replace the interaction between parents and children, in such a stressful and crazy world that would be easy to do.
