Japanese Xbox advert goes a bit too bubble-gum-pop?

The guys over at technabob say that the “Do! Do! Do!” ad campaign that Microsoft has for it’s Xbox 360, represents everything that’s wrong about Microsoft’s presence in Japan. Of course they balance that statement out by saying that the campaign may be just weird enough to be a big hit with the right markets.

I don’t know, they sort of remind me of Japanese-pop groups. The beat is also sort of catchy. But yeah, I get their point, for a console that has its strengths in other “more serious” areas of gaming, they’re going all bubble-gum-y with this campaign. Some of us here at QJ notice though that the campaign sort of works for the games on the console and not the console itself.
