Mass Effect - Image 1February 10th is the day to look out for if you want to get a 2-Disc Edition for Mass Effect (also on PC). How do you get it? Go to GameStop (linked below), and there you’ll find the product page, tagged with a price of US$ 19.99.

The 2-Disc Set is said to include the following:

  • Disc 1 – Mass Effect video game
  • Disc 2 – Documentary, Game Trailers, Music, Design Galleries and Bring Down the Sky

Disc 2 is looking to be a goldmine! And for only 20 bucks, that’s not such a bad steal at all. But there’s more news on Mass Effect stirring up in the webs of the Net. This one’s just a rumor for now, though, but an exciting one nonetheless.

Word has it that the sequels for Mass Effect (in case you didn’t know, it “just has to be a Trilogy!”) is sure to drop on the PlayStation 3 as well (the rumor’s been going around for quite some time now). In an article from Second Story Gamer, a reliable source close to Electronic Arts revealed that the company decided to make it available multiplatform because of “the economic outlook”. Simply put, they want it to sell more – and who doesn’t want to rake in more profits in this dire time?

As for the original installment, the same source said that it is “likely” to have a PS3 port as well, and with a release window to boot! Mid-2009 is the targeted PS3 debut, so it seems, and the main idea behind this is to introduce PS3 gamers to the series.

What’s more, the official announcement will be made at the GDC this March. So until then,  we’ll tag this part under rumor. Won’t hurt to cross your fingers too, though.

But don’t get confused. The GameSpot bit of this article is fact.
