Halo 3 Bungie Studios - Image 1Bungie Studios just announced more details about the upcoming downloadable content in store for Halo 3 players, particularly the new maps, O.K. Corral and Purple Reign. Purple Reign has been briefly mentioned in an earlier Bungie.net post; described as a “small, arena style map” which is designed for mid to long range combat.

What is unique about Purple Reign is that the windows in the bases are one-way: you can see through the windows from the inside, but can’t peek in from the outside.

Another upcoming map is the O.K. Corral, which combines the aesthetics and function of both man-made modern architecture and natural structures. O.K. Corral is located in a small canyon, with one side filled with forestry and the other populated with dilapidated buildings. The map will be suited for Team Slayer, Oddball, and Capture the Flag games.

As for the patches included in the yet-to-be-released Auto Update 1 or AU1, we can expect that it will fix a known issue with the Elite Commando Shoulders. Also, AU1 will not affect files stored in the file share… at least for now. Other details will be released about AU1 as Bungie continues testing the fixes for Halo 3.
