New Final Fantasy Dissidia video

For those of us keeping tabs on the Square Enix beat-em-up that’s headed to the PlayStation Portable, Final Fantasy: Dissidia, here’s something to send chills down your spine and whet your appetites at the same time: its first ever trailer video. Prepare to be blown right out of your chairs.

The video begins with the first calming notes of the Materia theme – and then it’s full throttle from then on. We see gloriously-detailed characters fighting it out in destructible arenas with their over-the-top attacks rivaling those of a certain fighting game with colorfully-dressed ninjas. One thing to note is that the characters have voice acting – something that the Final Fantasy franchise had never dabbled with, that is, until next-gen, and they actually FIT their corresponding character’s personalities as we know them.

The last part of the trailer then confirms something we’ve been all wondering about – the presence of a certain one-winged angel with the seven-foot sword in the game. Enough spoilers from us. Do yourself a favor and watch the video – you have to see it to believe it.
