Nintendo Gears for Wii’s Launch Announcement

Nintendo WiiWe earlier reported about the rumored London Wii gig that will divulged the console’s well-speculated secrets. According to GamesIndustry.Biz, Nintendo has confirmed preparation for a trade-only event in Europe, where it plans to reveal vital details about the Wii, such as its price and launch date.

The Europe event will take place on September 15. According to a Nintendo of Europe (NoE) representative, rumors of production delay due to difficulties manufacturers are having with the remote controller are unfounded. The spokesperson added, “Wii will be playable. Nintendo will be announcing new software at the event and there will be new announcements regarding the Wii console itself.”

Furthermore, the similar event for North America will be headed by NoA President Reggie Fils-Aime.  Aside from the expected announcement of price and launch details,  an announcement of new titles is also awaited. Finally, Nintendo assures fans that  Wii’s target fourth quarter release this year will definitely push through.
