Race Driver 2006 Geared for Multiplayer Racing

Race Driver 2006This is the US version of the European TOCA Race Driver 2. Although this PSP version of the game cannot give gamers very detailed visuals of their wrecked or damaged cars, Race Driver 2006 is still able to show real time damage to the race cars. Aside from this, this version for the portable has been created to feel like a cross between simulation and arcade racing.

The story starts with the gamer being placed in a Ford GT and being made to compete right away in a high-stakes race. This gives the gamer a taste of the coming races in the game. From here, the gamer can choose which series he’ll want to compete in; he can choose the Convertible World Tour (which takes you to Surfer’s Paradise and Kyalami tracks) or the ’68 Mustang Challenge (which takes you the to Road American and Laguna Seca courses. The damage the cars incur in the game (damages to steering, suspension, gears, etc.) might result to the gamer having to quit the race.

As mentioned, Race Driver 2006 is made to be like a cross between a simulation and an arcade, so driving the cars (be it a DB7 Volante or a Ford GT) in this race is enjoyable, and much better than playing Gran Turismo.

Race Driver 2006 can support up to 12 drivers and both Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure support all at once. This game will be released in the US in May.
