Target’s new preorder program offers GiftCards for future purchases

Target just announced that their new preorder program will give you GiftCards upon claiming your reserved games, giving you a little bit of honey for your money. It’s like getting a mini-refund or a rebate as a reward for your reservation.

Starting April 19th, customers can get a reservation card for only a dollar. Bring it back within seven days of release of your game, then they’ll give you a GiftCard worth US$ 5. It may not sound much, but if Target’s your place for game purchases, accumulating GiftCards could help you out for succeeding purchases.

So says Mark Schindele, senior VP at Target:

WeÂ’ve created a reservation guarantee that ensures guests will get their hands on popular games the day they are released, and a $5 GiftCard upon purchase adds even more value.

We are constantly striving to make sure our guests find everything they need to work, live and play all in one convenient and simplified shopping experience.

The program will kick-off with titles such as Punch Out!! from Nintendo, EA Sports Active from Electronic Arts, Ghostbusters from Atari, Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings from LucasArts, and UFC 2009 Undisputed from THQ.
