Three returning characters, two new stages in Soul Calibur 4
If you’ve been wondering what some of the veteran warriors in the Soul Calibur series have been up to since the last installment, then wonder no more. Well, wonder no more about three of them, anyway. That’s right. Namco Bandai has revealed three more returning characters in Soul Calibur 4 (PS3, Xbox 360), plus two new stages for them to play around in. More Soul Calibur nostalgia follows after the jump.
It’s a sweet experience when old favorites return for an encore performance in a game’s sequel, especially if that sequel is Namco Bandai‘s Soul Calibur 4 (PS3, Xbox 360). Joining the roster of familiar faces in Soul Calibur 4 are Maxi, Seong Mi-na and Hong Yun-seong. Namco Bandai has also seen fit to include two new stages in the game – with one of them looking oddly familiar.
As you can see from the screenshots, Soul Calibur 4‘s returning characters are sporting a hybrid of old and new features. Yun-seong reminds us of a gypsy version of King of Fighters Ikari Warrior Ralf, while Mi-na makes a comeback with more clothes and a more mature beauty. Maxi, on the other hand, is looking more and more like Elvis than in previous installments of the Soul Calibur series.
Also worthy of note are Namco Bandai’s two new stages: one appears to be the deck of Maxi’s old pirate ship, while the other one seems to be a cold, blue cave complete with what looks like a frozen woolly mammoth in the background.
With the reintroduction of Maxi, Mi-na and Yun-seong in Soul Calibur 4, we can’t help but wonder what other familiar faces Namco Bandai will include in the future, if ever. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled, so check back with us again for more updates in the future.
