Tony Hawk’s Project 8 – Joel Jewett Video Interview
Joel Jewett, President of Neversoft Entertainment, had a few things to share about Tony Hawk’s Project 8.
- The new game has been built from the ground up on a new rendering engine. It takes advantage of the technological advances between the Xbox 360 and previous game platforms.
- They also rewrote the animation system. The game can blend 8 to 20 animations together at any given time (you can see how smooth the movements are in the video).
- There’s also a nail the trick mode. You hold down both analog sticks simultaneously, the camera zooms in, the world slows down, and you use the analog sticks to move your character’s feet. This lets you make up your own board tricks.
Watch the video. Most of it is pretty cool, and the rest is just awesome (although I found the part where the skater went along this giant piano keyboard a bit strange).
Tony Hawk‘s Project 8 is also coming out for the PS3, PS2, Xbox, and PSP.
