As if we didn’t need any more reason to be envious of Japan‘s Game Archives service on the PSN. The US and European PSN services are just now starting to finally see an increase in actual classics coming to the PSOne Classics service, but it turns out Japan is already so far ahead that they’re actually getting games that weren’t even released on the original PlayStation.

Sony Japan has announced that they’re starting to branch out from exclusively delivering PlayStation releases on the Game Archives service by rolling out four PC Engine/TurboGrafx 16 games. Starting today, Japanese gamers (and those who have access to the Japanese PSN) will be able to download the following:

  • Bomberman ’94
  • New Adventure Island (Takahashi Meijin no Shin Boukenjima)
  • Sengoku Mahjong
  • Devil Crush

All of the above titles carry JPÂ¥ 600 (around US$ 6) and are playable on both PS3 and PSP. More games from the system will be released in the future, although Sony declined to give any indication if they’ll also be releasing games from other platforms. Neither did they reveal if the US and EU PSN will get TurboGrafx 16 games as well.
