Dead Rising gets a Z in Japan
It seems preposterous that a land with weird tastes in games and an affectionate dislike for the character “Hard Gay” would find something to gripe about with zombie killing. Even with some modifications and the removal of decapitation animations and whatnot, they’ve decided to sentence Capcom‘s Dead Rising with the dreaded Z.
Even in Japan, they have their own quirky ratings system.
Z ratings refer to games that are for the 18+ crowd, and while this one was received VERY well by the American populace, the Japanese folks (who made the game, mind you) are a bit more hesitant to sell it for fear of legal problems if they sell it to minors.
Would the Japanese prefer it if we make cute and lovely like the above Photoshoppery? Sigh… it’s so hard to understand the tastes of gamers these days.
