Nintendo’s Wii Strap Swap scheme is a go in Europe

Gamers in Europe who have encountered problems with their Wii straps can now turn them in and have them replaced with thicker and sturdier wrist straps.

All you need in order to lessen the chances of getting your Wiimote stuck in a wall or someone’s eye is give Nintendo a couple of personal details and your console serial number. In return, you get up to four new wrist straps and that warm fuzzy feeling that comes with knowing that the chances of you hurting someone while playing Wii Sports have just been lessened.

Since some Wii consoles, particularly those that shipped in early December, already came with the new straps, you’ve got to check first if your Wii has the old or the new version.
