Insomniac: No comment on Church of England’s complaints against Resistance
We reported earlier on copyright lawyer Alex Chapman’s take if whether the Church of England’s complaints against Sony could actually hold up in court. Now, this one is about Resistance: Fall of Man‘s developer Insomniac Games and what it has to say about all the commotion of a Cathedral showing up in a shooting game.
Insomniac’s comment? No comment. In fact, it’s actually Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) which is going to be in the other side of the ring in this legal bout of sorts. Sony Computer Entertainment America’s (SCEA) Dave Karraker puts it like so:
SCEE is handling all the communications from there on the matter and is dealing directly with the authorities in Manchester. We are viewing this as a conversation between the Church and SCEE and don’t plan on making any further announcements regarding it.
There you have it. At least we know that Sony’s taking this matter seriously, and not just letting it simply tide over until all heck breaks loose. It’s just a bit sad that we’re not going to get any further updates about this rather interesting case, as it’s been quite a ride.
But still, we’ll be updating you about the situation if the opportunity does present itself.
