PlayStation 3 Firmware version 2.01 going live in a few days

We’ve been running on PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.0 for a little over a week, but Sony‘s already cooking the next one for us. Curious? Eric Lempel gave a little heads up at the PlayStation Blog.

A little more than a week back, PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.0 went live (along with some features that were not included in the press releases). Earlier today, PlayStation Network Operations’ Director, Eric Lempel announced that the newest system software update will be coming soon.

The announcement was really just a quick heads up that the PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.01 will be coming in a few days. According to the blog post, 2.01 is “a minor update that will improve the stability of PLAYSTATION 3.”
