A truckload more new details on Full Auto 2 PSP

coming on March 13, 2007 - Image 1With only less than a month before Full Auto 2 parks on your PSPs, we definitely need all the information we can get to help us enjoy this racing action to the fullest. And what do you know? You’re just in luck ‘cuz we have for you today IGN’s interview with Deep Fried Entertainment‘s art director, Russell Rice.

In the interview, Rice revealed that for the PSP version, the team consciously diverted their focus away from parts of the console versions which are not necessarily applicable to the handheld. And of course, that makes perfect sense. That way, they can really just zoom in on the strengths of the platform, rather than trying to make it a mirror of the console versions, which would only be, in itself, futile.

Now, the little version has got some big weapons in store for you. Here, there are three distinct and destructively powerful ‘pick-up’ weapons that has its own unique usage. As this game is all out for destruction, you can bet you’d find a healthy supply of them littered about. As for the rides, they did borrow four cars from the PS3 version. But of course, that won’t be all. They also have squeezed in 11 new additions for you to choose from. That’s variety right there, folks.

Says Rice, the collection “ranges from fast, light handling Hot Rods to Heavy duty armored construction vehicles. It would be wise of you to choose the vehicle most suited for any one particular race or event. You can also jazz up your rides, thanks to the presence of custom vinyls and paint schemes, as well as choice of weaponry for you to mount on your car.

So, you wanna find out if there will be any connectivity features between the PS3 and the PSP games? Read up on what he’s got to say:

Since we built the PSP from the ground up, we’ve created a PSP specific game. Perhaps if we had worked on porting the PS3 version over to the PSP there might be some connectivity to include, but in this case, Full Auto 2 for the PSp is a stand-alone game in the Full Auto family.

Awww… but that’s okay. Though some of you may be disappointed about the lack of PS3-PSP connectivity, we’re pretty sure the multiplayer features and modes can more than make up for that. There’s the Race and Arena Death Match modes, which both have “customizable event parameters set by the Host of the match”.

For now, that’s all we have for you guys. But don’t worry, we’ll be sure to bring you more of the latest on this game, so keep it pegged here.
