Activision has revealed that they are planning to release two map packs as DLC for Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC), which has yet to be launched on November 10. Is anyone surprised by this? I didn’t think so. Here’s what Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith had to say regarding the game’s DLC:
In terms of online content, we plan to launch two separate map packs for this title. Map packs help extend the shelf life of the franchise, as evidenced by the strong catalogue sales and premium pricing that we maintained a year-and-a-half after launch. Life to date, weÂ’ve had strong success with map packs on this franchise, selling more than 8 million units for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Griffith also said that Modern Warfare 2 has already amassed the largest pre-orders in Activision history, calling the game the “must-have title of the year”
