Activision CEO on Guitar Hero’s Asian Tour, World of Warcraft
It was big news when Activision made plans of acquiring Blizzard last year. For this year, CEO Bobby Kotick has announced the plans made by the company for popular game titles such as Guitar Hero and World of Warcraft. Details in the full article.
At the Morgan Stanley Technology Conference, Activision‘s CEO, Bobby Kotick, was able to speak words regarding their plans for the company. In his talk, Kotick actually included their famous games such as the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Wii, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PC) and World of Warcraft.
Kotick repeated his claim that it would at least take half a billion dollars to take on the MMORPG. Fortunately, there’s a merger going to happen between Activision and Blizzard, Kotick said that they’d be using their future partner’s institutional expertise on games to bring PC editions of Guitar Hero to the countries such as China and Korea.
Furthermore, Kotick praised their rhythm-based game as the their best selling-game that they ever had. The words “instruments” were often repeated in his speech, which could mean that there are plans of a “DJ hero” spin-off title or rather a Rock Band-like expansion in the future. In any case, you can read up on more of Kotick’s quotable quotes at the source article.
