Adventure Island to be headed to the Wii soon

Adventure Island to be headed to the Wii soon - Image 1If you’re a fan of retro games, then you will have undoubtedly heard of, or played Hudson Soft‘s Adventure Island. If you’ve been itching to play it, then you’ll be happy to know that the ESRB has already rated the game for the Wii, making it only a matter of time before we see it on our systems.

This gem of a game debuted on the Famicom back in 1986 and later was released for the NES in 1988. The main character, Master Higgins, is on a quest to rescue his mate by traversing the tropical island.

The gameplay is reminiscent of side-scrollers of that era of video gaming, complete with power-ups, a timer, and a health bar that diminishes as Higgins takes a hit.

With that news, we know that quite a few gamers are leaping with joy at anticipation of this release. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing this sooner rather than later. Till then, we’d advise you to dust off your old NES and play a few rounds so you don’t go careening off a cliff on a skateboard.
