Sarah Morrison of Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa - Image 1 Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa has always strived to take the MMORPG genre to greater levels, and (another) one of its features that will separate it from the niche is that the game’s postergirl, Sarah Morrison, will be played by an actual person instead of being an NPC that spouts out scripted remarks when you talk to her.

In a recent interview with IGN, the three women who will play Sarah Morrison (yes, three of them, and girl gamers too) explained their roles as the women behind the character. First of all there are three of them because Sarah sometimes has to appear in multiple locations or at different servers at the same time.

There are certain advantages to having Sarah be played by real people. For one thing, players will be able to be more immersed in the game, knowing that Sarah isn’t just a series of prerecorded lines. In addition to this, the players behind Sarah will be able to react to the events in the game directly (like the kill-General-British event that ended the beta).

Basically the women playing Sarah will be basing their actions upon her character’s backstory and personality. Of course events in the game will force Sarah’s character to change and the players will have to change to adapt to her mindset as well. Of course some of the player’s character leaks into Sarah as well so you might be able to guess who’s who once you get familiar with them.
