Arcade puzzle Pop’N Pop getting a ‘Wiimake’?

Pop'N Pop - Image 1Colorful arcade game Pop’N Pop just might be seeing a makeover for Nintendo Wii. Inconspicuously settled in the middle of Nintendo’s Q2 release schedule for Wii Europe is the title Pop’N Pop along with Pangya! Golf with Style.

Now, we aren’t exactly sure if it’s gonna be the same Pop’N Pop that was released in Japan back in 1998 and in 2000 for the U.S. from Taito. But Siliconera surmises that “since 505 Games is also publishing and Elevator Action remake for the Wii it seems like Pop’N Pop is getting the Wiimake treatment too.”

We’re definitely crossing our fingers for that. If you’re kinda clueless as to what this game is all about, Pop’N Pop is actually a puzzle game where you have to match balloons floating overhead by their colors so you can pop them. Sorta like Tetris, only here things are flying up, and not falling down. But basically, the same concept applies. You have to be able to keep the stack at a minimum.

We’ll keep you posted for more news on this as it comes along.
