That’s precisely what happened when bandits hijacked a truck carrying over a thousand copies of Harmonix‘s Rock Band (PS3 and Xbox 360) in Industry, California last weekend. More on this after the jump!

That’s precisely what happened when bandits hijacked a truck carrying over a thousand copies of Harmonix‘s Rock Band (PS3 and Xbox 360) in Industry, California last weekend.

The modern “highwaymen” apparently kidnapped the driver and held the driver at gunpoint while they proceeded to unload the cargo of Rock Band games.

Aside from the software copies, the bandits also stole the drum sets, guitars, and microphones that came packaged with Harmonix’s games. Estimates place the total worth of Rock Band goods stolen at over US$170,000.

Bryce Baer spoke on behalf of Electronic Arts, Inc., California-based publisher of Harmonix’s Rock Band, when he said that “We hope these guys end up forming a Rock Band in jail.”
