Behind the scenes at The Club: a Bizarre tour

Character concept image for The Club. Er, has everyone gone gangsta lately? - Image 1Bizarre CreationsStudio Update 22 was dedicated to the tour they gave members of the press to watch them hard at work on The Club, their Xbox 360/PS3 shooter. If it’s any indicator of how hard they’re working at the game, staff member Stu described what their studio literally looked like: custom-built to house 150 game designers, and divided into four studios, one of which is dedicated to The Club.

Stu gave a rather long and winding tour of the press tour, not to mention snippets of game design, too long to cover in one go here. The Read link remains a very handy and convenient tool to see the unabridged version of The Count of Monte Cristo – er, Studio Update 22 for the raw data. We’ll give you a heads-up of what to expect, however:

  • the character design process, which also involves focus groups (you mean they come to guys like us for opinions? Cool);
  • the animation process, using Maya and the in-game engine;
  • environmental modeling, lighting, and physics; and audio design and recording.
