Halo 3 - Image 1“I gotta check your ID to see if you’re 17,” said Bill Gates when he sold a copy of Halo 3 to lucky 17-year old Ritesh David, in the Halo 3 launch party at a Seattle Best Buy store near the Microsoft headquarters.

Gates graced the Halo 3 party in Best Buy Seattle with his presence, shaking hands with fans of the best-selling Bungie title, and helping out in selling copies of the game. David, one of his customers, was surprised when he found out that the store clerk who gave him his copy was the richest man in America.

About 500 people marched into the store to get their much-awaited copy of Halo 3, and to see Bill Gates as well. “It is worth it. It is time to finish this fight,” said Halo 3 fan Alex Escobar, referring to Halo 3‘s tagline, alluding to the final fight between humans and aliens in the final part of the Halo trilogy.

Seen as a console-selling game, Halo 3 managed to garner high review scores, and even generated a positive reaction from Microsoft’s stockholders, with Microsoft’s shares rising 1.5 percent higher at US$ 29.08.
