Bizarre Creations on Microsoft: They got cocky on us
It was supposed to be a promotional interview with Bizarre Creations for their new racer, Blur, but somehow, it ended up with an interesting anecdote about the company that Sony fanboys love to hate, Microsoft. Bizarre’s creative director, Martyn Chudley, divulged how their company’s relationship with MS got strained towards the end. “Cocky,” I believe is how he termed it.

It all started with the story on how Project Gotham Racing 4‘s development was rushed by MS near the end of the project, with the company wanting to take out the final six weeks of the development. Of course, the devs did not want to – and did not – do it, basically because they knew it’ gonna compromise the game and its quality a whole lot.
Said Chudley,
They didn’t realize how bad a situation it would have been – we needed that extra six weeks, and it got us concerned with the future with Microsoft… We were getting disillusioned with Microsoft and they were getting corporate and cocky as well because of the shift in power between them and Sony.
Chudley was careful to stress though that it wasn’t all bad times with MS. “We had a really good relationship right up to the very end – but they always had other agendas, which were primarily about selling Xbox.”
Burn. What say you, Microsoft?
