Now that BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is ready to hit retailers, Zen United, Arc System Works and gamerbase are teaming up to generate some hype for the 2D fighter. How? By letting players battle it out in a tournament.
The tournament will start on April 10th. Regional seeding sessions will be held in each gamerbase supercenter around the UK, with the top three in each regional tourney gaining free entry and a seeded seat in the main tournament at Gamerbase Manchester on April 24th.
Tourney prizes include a 42″ HDTV, Xbox 360 120gb Elite consoles, BlazBlue officially branded Hori fightsticks,BlazBlue Limited Edition art books, T-Shirts, and HMV Vouchers. Gamerbase’s Fraglotto system will also enter all the players who won a round into a draw, so there’s still a chance to win something even if you bow out of the competition later.
BlazBlue hits UK retail on April 2, so there’s still some time to polish your skills if you want to enter the tournament. Even if you don’t get a copy on launch day, you can still drop by gamerbase venues to get some free play time. The game will also be playable at any of the 40 gamerbase lite pods around the country in HMV stores.
Registration ends April 20th. You can learn more about the tournament here.
