Nintendo's Diddy Kong from Donkey Kong Country 2 - Image 1Not long ago, word of the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console being hacked has been passed around. This time, Brakken from TehSkeen reports a group called Blaze Team just released a hacked version of Donkey Kong Country 2, a title available via Nintendo’s software download service.

Brakken points out that the file can be considered a “backup” for Wii owners who already purchased the game, but being in a format which can be passed around would allow it to be shared illegally to those who didn’t pay Nintendo.

Reportedly, coder Bushing who managed to run unsigned code on Wii for the first time doesn’t approve of the hacked VC title. The reason cited was this development could bring negative attention to the Wii homebrew community.
