Brain Share open-source conference lures visitors with Wiis

2007 Brain Share Conference from Novell - six Wii kiosks up, none spotted for 360 or PS3 - Image 1Over at Novell‘s 2007 Brain Share Conference, the industry’s best minds in open-source regulation for the fully fledged enterprise have come to meet over at Salt Lake City, Utah, for a much-needed refresher in Linux loving basics.  From March 18 – 23, a slew of the computer industry’s largest and best minds will provide training, lectures, seminars, and – apparently – even some gaming fun for all those who attend.

And what better way to introduce gaming to the enterprise bracket than the Wii itself. In fact, Nintendo has also promoted the Wii for your own business, with some hilarious overtones. So it wouldn’t be a surprise that the ever so lovable Wii would be found at the 2007 Brain Share Conference, being used by professionals as a tool for bringing in folk to their booths.

Although platinum sponsor Microsoft and participant Sony have been busy raffling away their next-gen consoles to the eager crowd, only Wiis are being hooked up into LCD TV sets to demo games on the Nintendo’s next-gen console. In fact, six Wiis are already available for hands-on trials just to lure in attendees. According to Team Infendo’s field reporter covering the event, “No other console were being shown to lure in the crowds.”
