Bungie gets the flu, Cortana returns

Jen Taylor - the one behind Cortana's voice - Image 1This is late news, but since it’s a weekly update, we thought we could update it within a week (*cough* sorry). So what’s happening at Bungie? They’ve been hit by a bug.

Yes, the team grabbed a cold case of the flu, plus a couple more viruses on their dev machines. Apparently, one of the programmers strolled back home with an entire desktop to finish up some work there. Bungie assures that they aren’t giving up, colds or what not…

To boost the mood up a bit, Jen Taylor, the person behind the voice of  the maddening Cortana, came back to do a few more lines for the game. She’s also behind a whole lotta voices, including Princess Peach. What a gap, huh?

Bungie enjoyed her company, while getting a few chills from her dialog (you know, Cortana is after all a tad different than we used to know her). She notices that Cortana has more emotional dialog than technical ones. As she said, “For an actor, more drama is always good.”

There have also been a few graphics revamps, including that of the old rocket launcher. It should look more powerful when you pose with it. And good news to people who can’t take microphone hoggers: a mute button is available. Great! The Halo 3 experience just got better three-thousand fold!

You can read more of the details of their goings on last week. Click on the “Read” link below to get the update in detail.
