Call of Duty 4 tops UK’s Chart Track, January 12

The second week of January in the UK sees Activision‘s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare back on top of the most selling list (by unit), though closely followed by the previous week’s leader, Nintendo’s casual icon More Brain Training from Dr. Kawashima. And on a weekly basis, the war FPS swapped positions with last weeks all-platform top seller, FIFA 08. More at the full story.

Though shaken by Nintendo’s More Brain Training from Dr. Kawashima last week in the UK, Infinity Ward‘s latest war shooter wasn’t deterred from taking back the top of the Chart Track list. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare from Activision rose to the occasion once again this second week of January, beating back both Brain Training titles from Nintendo in the top three most units sold in the week ending January 12.

In the all-platforms front, EA Sports’ FIFA 08 withdrew from the throne to allow Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to ascend. Ubisoft‘s Assassin’s Creed leaps to the third spot, while EA’s The Simpsons Game loses some steam to land on fourth. Fifth seat goes to four-spot jumper Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock from Activision, just above the only non-mover of the week, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 from Konami.

EA Black Box’ Need for Speed: ProStreet throttles down to number seven, but manages to stay on top of biggest jumper and yet again new top-10 entry, Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training. More Brain Training from Dr. Kawashima drops one spot to ninth, with SEGA’s The Golden Compass closing last week’s top ten top sellers.
