Canadian PS3 Fallout 3: GotY edition not recognizing original Fallout 3 save games

Canadian PS3 owners are reporting problems with the PS3 version of Fallout 3‘s Game of the Year edition. Apparently, there’s a bug keeping the GotY edition from recognizing their original Fallout 3 save files.

Members of the Bethesda forums are currently speculating that the problem may lie in the GotY being incompatible with the version of the original game sold in the region. The problem may not be localized to Canada, as there’s also a report on the Bethesda forums that the same issue has been experienced in Sweden.

So far, Bethesda hasn’t announced any explanations or fixes, but they have acknowledged that they are looking into the problem. Here’s hoping it gets fixed fast.
