C&C’s Kane: a megalomaniac Q&A

Enter Joe Kucan, comedian-slash-actor-slash-comedian-slash-baldy-slash-comedian. You’ll all remember him from the original Command & Conquer installment – the very first one. Comprising the role of Kane, he is the same, old bald-headed megalomaniac that leads the equally weird Brotherhood of Nod against the forces of the military machine, the Global Defense Initiative.

Joseph Kucan - in the role of Kane - Image 1GameSpot got to bear with Kucan for a couple of minutes (hours, for sure, from laughing their socks off) to get his views on the newest installment to the original story, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars coming out for the PC and 360. Oh and he also has a say about his work with sultry Tricia Helfer and ooh-la-la Grace Park, among others.

He is very surprised that the team developing the game specifically asked that he play the role of Kane. He adores the fact that the team is so loyal to the old story, the very foundation that spurred C&C to blockbuster fame. He does get away with mentioning that he was also cheap to hire and can be easily coerced to move the heavy equipment around.

Taking a second look at him, he hasn’t aged a bit has he? He claims to love Bikram Yoga, which he says helps him stay young. And of course, there’s the Dorian Gray immortality claim. We wonder if his portrait that “just gets older and older” also grows hair…

He was honored to act alongside sci-fi veteran actors Grace Park and Tricia Helfer, of “Battlestar Galactica” fame, and found the experience one to remember. He never failed to joke about a restraining order placed on him by Helfer, though. He also thanks game executive producer Mike Verdu for tattooing Kucan’s face on his chest and all his fans for their support of the game.
