Recent developments in the video game industry have escalated to what may become a shift in position between the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360’s places in the market. We heard what the analysts think about it, but it never hurts to approach things from a different angle.

One developer recently gave his thoughts on the matter in a recent interview with Next Generation: Didier Malenfant, co-founder and President of Ready at Dawn, the studio that gave us Daxter and God of War: Chains of Olympus.

Malenfant believes that while the PS3 will win the console war this time around, Microsoft‘s strong presence will certainly be a factor in the next war, and things will be more unsure in the next hardware cycle:

I think PS3 will win this generation when all is said and done. What IÂ’m more curious about is the next one really.

Microsoft made a dent this time around and can stand to finally get the upper hand if they stick it out and/or if Sony stays complacent like they did early on in this generation. ThatÂ’s where the real fight is going to be in my opinion.
