Chains of Olympus developer: PS3 will win in this generation

The console wars is once again in full swing thanks to the Xbox 360 price cut in Europe and, more recently, the PlayStation 3’s victory in the market last month. We’ve heard what the analysts have to say about it, but it never hurts to have a different perspective on things. Recent developments in the video game industry have escalated to what may become a shift in position between the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360’s places in the market. We heard what the analysts think about it, but it never hurts to approach things from a different angle.

One developer recently gave his thoughts on the matter in a recent interview with Next Generation: Didier Malenfant, co-founder and President of Ready at Dawn, the studio that gave us Daxter and God of War: Chains of Olympus.

Malenfant believes that while the PS3 will win the console war this time around, Microsoft‘s strong presence will certainly be a factor in the next war, and things will be more unsure in the next hardware cycle:

I think PS3 will win this generation when all is said and done. What IÂ’m more curious about is the next one really.

Microsoft made a dent this time around and can stand to finally get the upper hand if they stick it out and/or if Sony stays complacent like they did early on in this generation. ThatÂ’s where the real fight is going to be in my opinion.
