Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena multiplayer confirmed

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay - Image 1 Now that we’ve confirmed Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena as a remake of the original Xbox game, here’s more info about Riddick’s new adventure to the next-gen platforms.

After playing through the original storyline, players would find themselves in the mysterious merc-ship, Dark Athena. Riddick will encounter Captain Revas, a mistress that will send her mind-controlled slaves at him. Of course, there’s nothing to fear when you’ve got so many weapons at your disposal.

Starbreeze Studios already revealed that the game won’t be just a port, the remake will be reworked from the ground up with added content. What they’re really proud of, and what most fans want to know about, is the multiplayer aspect. Sierra Entertainment confirmed that, indeed, we’re getting the multiplayer.

Not much details about the multiplayer aspect are available as of now, but lead game designer Ian Stevens from Starbreeze Studios said “weÂ’re also thrilled to be bringing Multiplayer to the game”. We can only hope that they’ll put stealth elements into good use, to steal weapons from foes and shoot it back at them. The game is scheduled to ship later this 2007.
