Club Nintendo will be launching in the US before the end of the year, and they’ll be offering freebies for your undying love – that is, loyalty points. Explains Nintendo’s VP of sales and marketing Cammie Dunaway:
When you purchase a Nintendo product, you go on and you say that youÂ’ve purchased a Nintendo product, you get points for that. You also get points for filling out surveys to talk about your experience with the product.
You actually get points before you purchase, if you indicate an interest in purchasingÂ… So it really helps us to gauge marketplace demand. As you collect points […] youÂ’re able to trade them in for real merchandise.
She explains that freebies will be more like the ones sold in Japan. Their line-up ranges anywhere from keychains to Wiimotes with TV remote control functionality. So show your love for Nintendo, reach into their pockets as they reached into yours.
