CNN looks into the Wiimote strap dilemma

As you guys have probably noticed (and maybe even experienced for yourself), there have been some issues with the Wiimote: there’s the broken TV caused by the flying Wiimote, which in turn was caused by the broken Wiimote straps, and so on and so forth.

And because this phenomenon is starting to seem like just a few swings away from becoming a national emergency (for some people at least), CNN decided to get in on the action by having one of their reporters take on the Wii – swings, strokes, straps and all. The CNN reporter consulted two “veteran gamers” from Joystiq (who walked the reporter through the proper use of the Wiimote and Nunchuk) AND get this, a chiropractor.

The general conclusion seems to be that while the Wii was extremely successful in getting our resident couch potatoes to get off their asses, it also tends to induce errr… “hyperactivity” (for lack of a better term). Here in the video, the reporter tries to play the Wii Sports games and analyzes the possible dangers of the Wii’s motion-sensing innovation. Can’t really promise you that they’ll point out stuff that you guys don’t know already, but hey, it’s still a Wii TV stint right? And anything with the Wii on it is definitely worth watching. So with that, I’ll leave you guys with the vid and let us know what you think.
