Command and Conquer 3: An early look at the Tiberium warpath

Loyal Command and Conquer fans who have been itching to get on the battlefield since EA’s last RTS outing may have to wait a bit more for the release of the much-anticipated Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, but we’ve got some info and a video demonstrating just what lies ahead when you re-enlist for the battle.

The game’s plot is set in the far future where a bullet-riddled environment is all that’s left of the Earth. The war rages on between the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the evil Brotherhood of Nod who are fighting for supremacy and truckloads of shimmering green crystals known as Tiberium. Tiberium is an unlimited source of energy, but beware, it’s also the worst pollutant ever discovered, having the capacity to desolate terrains and rid the world of all life.

To mix things up, EA also throws in the Scrin, a new alien faction whose nature is still a mystery. As seen in the video, the game seems to use a similar graphics engine with that of Command and Conquer: Generals. The 3D graphics are more detailed and are smoother than ever. Also seen in the video is what looks like a revamped interface from the Red Alert series. EA also promises a more rewarding single player campaign and a more dynamic online multiplayer mode where players can choose to fight or be spectators. Enjoy the video below!
