Crack the axis! Inside the SIXAXIS controller

He cracked it open!

So… do any of you have extensive knowledge of the Chinese language? We don’t know why this person has it, much less where he got one of Sony‘s SIXAXIS controllers, but he apparently has one, and he’s not only showing the thing on a Chinese forum, he’s cracked it open and dissected it.

Now, there’s not much information we can actually take from the article because of translation problems, but the controller looks authentic enough. One thing we could sort of understand was the cable that looked more or less like something you could insert onto a motherboard. Not really much you can use from that info unless you were a determined control modder, but it’s better than none at all. Regardless, the pictures below show you different aspects of some of the controller’s parts, such as the buttons you press, the board of your controller’s input system, and the insides of the analog sticks.

As long as someone doesn’t pre-order a PS3 for the sole purpose of gloating about it in front of a store and then smashing his newly bought console to bits, then we’ve really got no reason to be up in arms over the whole thing, right? So, if anyone can give a relatively accurate translation of any important discoveries on the forum post, let us know. We’ll bow before your almighty Chinese skills, and ensure your place in gaming heaven.
