Crackdown gameplay pwns real-life cops everywhere

Really, because if real-world cops were as ruthlessly and lethally effective as this guy from Microsoft Game Studios’ Crackdown, all the stuff that happen in games like Saints’ Row and Grand Theft Auto would be pure bull****. Think about it – the plot paints you as a super-cop spliced from the DNA of the best cops in the force, and…

God almighty, was that a grenade launcher?! You expect any GTA or Saints’ criminal to live through that? Yeah, the game has its Spy Hunter moments, too, when you get in a car that doesn’t care what it does to any other car (Hey, we thought cop chases were about getting control of the runaway, not CRUSHING the runaway?). But on-foot, it’s rifle-toting, grenade-chucking, rocket-blasting – and no instance of Miranda anywhere.

We’re still looking towards a Q1 2007 release for Crackdown. Seriously, if cops were like that in real life, I wouldn’t care about my right to remain silent. No one could hear me, after all, if I were dead (Here’s to hoping society never has to descend to that level of desperation).
