Dark Age of Camelot v1.85a Notes

DAoC1

Okay, DAoC Fans – long have you awaited these with baited breath, so here some of the most significant new features and bug fixes in Mythic Entertainment‘s beloved Dark Age of Camelot, now available on the Pendragon server:

 – New art  for players in Shades of Mist (not necro shade), mummy, and Catacomb (and newer client) stone forms

 – NPCs who misleadingly offered Master Level experience no longer do so.

 – Advanced trainers are now stationed in Cotswold, Mularn, and Mag Mell by their guilds. Many are new to training, so  may not offer all services as those in the capital city ( beginning epic quests, et. al.).

 – Two bugs in the user interface causing tooltips to positioned incorrectly in tree controls have been nuked.

In addition, here are some Class changes:

 – For Cabalists, Simulacrum pets now perform the entire range of emotes as other pets.

 – Hunters now have a new instant-cast pet at spec 40 and 50 in Beastcraft

 – Necromancers may now purchase and use the Realm Ability Purge and use Tinderbox items while in Shade form.

Weapon changes include the following:

 – Left Axe Decaying Rage is now a side positional style with a 5 second stun, and can be chained off by Aurora Borealis

 – ValkyrieÂ’s Shield is now based off Evade for Berserkers and Shadowblades

 – The Sword Frost Cut will be based off Evade for Savages.

 – Riposte for Infiltrators will now be based off Evade.

 – Reflection for Infiltrators will now be based off Evade.

 – Beartooth for Infiltrators will now be based off Evade.

 – Ricochet for Infiltrators will be based off Evade.

 – Horizon blade is now based off Evade for Nightshades and Rangers.

 – Tarantula will now be based off Evade for Nightshades and Rangers.

Some Master Level Changes are as follows:

 – Speed and functionality has been increased for The Forceful Zephyr. It’s now a targeted pet summon spell like the Theurgist Earth pet. The line of sight is no longer limited to just X and Y planes – targeting on a different Z axis is now possible.

 – Forceful Zephyr will only hit the person originally targeted by the caster. It will no longer hit other enemy targets in its path.

 – The Zephyr will chase only the target designated by the caster. It is possible to outrun the Zephyr during its lifespan under certain conditions.

 – The Zephyr is immune to Crowd Control spells and will not deviate from its original target.

 – The ability now has a 2000 unit range.

 – The lifespan of the Zephyr is 10 seconds, and will last an additional 7-10 seconds if it reaches its target.

 – The Zephyr will randomly choose a direction when it hits its target and buffet the target in that direction.

 – The Zephyr will chase a target under water if the target dives after the ability is used. The caster cannot use it on a target above water if under water, and vice-versa.

 – While the Zephyr is buffeting its target for the 7-10 seconds, the target is immune to damage through a pulsing melee and magic ablative. This immunity drops as the target gets dropped.

 – The recast timer of the ability has been lowered from 15 minutes to 10 minutes.

For testing purposes, the recast timer server for Forceful Zephyr (on the Pendragon only) has been lowered to 60 seconds. This is only test the mechanics of the change –  the official timer will be ten to fifteen minutes.

These are the main highlights; an extensive list of minor bugs and irritations have also been addressed, and some Quests have been disabled (Beer Run and Gone But Not Forgotten).  Hopefully, v1.85 will provide a more streamlined and enjoyable gaming experience for all.
