David Ortiz to Cover for MLB: 06

Big Papi (that?s David Ortiz to non Red Sox fans) is set to be the cover model for the upcoming exclusive PS2 and PSP title ?MLB ?06: The Show.? This will make the first appearance for Ortiz to cover for a videogame. The PSP version will include a career mode allowing gamers to create their own character, join their favorite team and eventually advance to the playoffs and maybe the World Series. Players will also benefit from both ad-hoc and infrastructure mode playing to play with close friends or over the internet.

On an interesting note, there will be an online news service for sports fans to get the latest MLB news feeds online and/or save them to their memory stick for offline review. Does this mean Sony will indeed include RSS news feeds in a firmware update on or before this game is released, or will this be an exclusive feature of MLB ?06: The Show?
