Dead Space demo coming tomorrow
We’re about a month since Dead Space‘s (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) release and if you haven’t bought it yet, EA’s looking to nudge you in the right direction for your holiday shopping. We’ll be seeing a demo of the sci-fi survival horror game up tomorrow (Nov. 25) over the PSN and Xbox Live Marketplace.
We’re about a month since Dead Space‘s (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) release and if you haven’t bought it yet, EA’s looking to nudge you in the right direction for your holiday shopping.
We’ll be seeing a demo of the sci-fi survival horror game released over the PSN and Xbox live Marketplace tomorrow, November 25th in North America and November 27th in Europe.
If you’re not yet familiar with the game here’s the need to know:
Dead Space is set in…well… space. Specifically, you are Isaac Clarke (I would have preferred “Arthur Asimov”), an engineer on board an interstellar mining ship. The game features a “strategic dismemberment” system which forces a refreshing change of pace from shooting for the head all the time. To put it simply, things don’t die unless you lop off the right bits.
The view is 3rd person over-the-shoulder not unlike RE4. Unlike RE4, this game is supposed to be genuinely scary. In fact, it’s won several game awards mostly due to the creep factor.
I’m not getting into any spoilers, but if you liked the movie Solaris, you’re going to (to borrow an expression of my esteemed QJ colleague) “fangasm” all over Dead Space. Enjoy.
