Details on the Wiinja Modchip for the Wii

We’ve seen a supposed hack that allows the Wii to run backup discs before, this time though, we’ve found a hack for the Wii that looks far from a hoax. This latest “workaround,” the gamecube games to be played on the wii”>Wiinja modchip, is from a group that reportedly call themselves Team Ninja.

The chip requires soldering to the Wii’s inside for it to work, hence the air of legitimacy around it. The modchip should allow for GameCube backups to be played on the Wii. However, it only allows backups of the same region to play on the Wii. Below are a few images of the chip, including is a rough installation diagram for the chip.
